Filming dairy

On the 2nd of January I recorded near the Lido in Ilkley, I did this to record clips of a car and the bright light that looks good in my video, we recorded here for about 30 minutes before heading up to the tarn to filming more clips for my into. None of these were lip syncing because it was clips for the start of my video with no lyrics. I filming my this on my phone (iPhone 15 pro) in the cinematic mode (30fps and 4K) so that my filming was stable and clear. I filmed with Xander, Kuba and Sam, and we all filmed footage, Xander was recording me on this day and Kuba played the music in the background so I could lip sync. We brought out our phones, I brought a power bank in case our phones ran out, and umbrellas to cover our phones.

On the 3rd of January, I filmed with my dad in his car. We were near low park road, I recorded my dad driving as I needed a shot for the opening verse of my song. I found that my video matched my music well so I used it. We drove at a safe speed on the road to ensure safety. I recorded in 60fps and 4k, on my iPhone 15 Pro. My dad drove I filmed from the passenger seat, it was wet so to ensure safety, we drove at 25 mph in a 30 mph zone to keep safe.

After I filmed with my dad, I met Xander and Kuba, we went up to Ilkley tarn to record some footage. I recorded my phone for some lyrics of my song to use Andrew Goodwin's theory. I used my phone to record, and I recorded kubas phone, tuba changed sanders now to Face on contacts so it matched the lyrics of my song. I recorded in 60fps and 4k, I also turned the brightness down on my phone camera settings to make the screen stand out more. to ensure safety, we stayed 2 meters away from the tarn so there was less chance of someone falling in. However i had to retake the video a few times as the quality and timing was off on most of them.

On the 5th of January, I filmed on a backroad near ilkley, I think this location is good for my music video because it is a backroad and there's also good lighting. I filmed on my iPhone 15 Pro in 4k and 60fps. I filmed with Xander Blake and sam. We all recorded footage for the intro of our songs with sam's car. I used some of the footage for the intro of my song. I filmed 2 videos here as the first one i didnt like as it was too dark and you couldnt see the car properly so i decided to retake the video, as seen in the picture above.
On the 7th of January, I filmed at the tarn again with the sunset in the background, I filmed 2 clips here, one was me lip syncing for the start of my music video, and the other was Cuba and Xander fighting for lyrics of my song. We stayed here for a couple hours as all of us needed to film. We used a tripod and our phone to film. We had the tripod facing me and the sunset behind me and we turned down the exposure on my phone so it looked a bit darker and the contrast was good. However the first time i filmed didn't look good as i put the exposure too high making the quality look poor as it was too bright which wouldn't fit my music video
I also filmed this on the 7th of January but it was unusable because it was too dark, as you couldn't see my face very well and it was for lip syncing. I also filmed with a balaclava and found that it didn't work well and you couldn't see me lip syncing, therefore the footage was unusable.

I have order my footage to useable and unusable footage, I have done this to make sure I don't put the unusable footage instead of the useable footage because if it goes in my music video it won't be as good as it should be which could affect my music video badly.
Overall I filmed in 10 different locations and all at different times, these locations were local to me such as the Tarn, Leeds however London was far away and i decided to film when i was on holiday. This was because the rooftops were i was were really nice and looked good at night, especially with the lights and buildings in the back ground.

created a final cut pro timeline as 1920x1080 at 25fps and imported all my usable footage.

I have added visuals to my music video, I have done this to match the lyrics and visuals. This is good because it uses Andrew Goodwin's theory, I have chosen a dark colour but it still stands out in my shot, and I have chosen a good font to go with this, this font is good because it matches my genre, this font is used on some of the daily dippy videos which also matches my genre.

I have added a pause in-between each clip in the intro to make the beat go better with the visuals because there is a pause in the music as well. This also uses Andrew Goodwin's as the music and visuals match, this will look good in my final edit because the transitions are quick and sequenced. Which is the same as my song, it is rap and goes quickly.

I have added an image with a transparent background of a Mercedes logo, I have added this as soon as Dave says Mercedes to match the lyrics and visuals. This means I have used Andrew good wins theory again, I have also added a clip that starts straight after the Mercedes logo to make the transition fast paced and look good.

My v1 music video

All clip music video

This is my music video unedited in my timeline, this is 6 minutes and 24 seconds long, and my song is only 3 minutes 34 seconds. I will place my clips into the corresponding position in order to make my music video look good. I imported all my videos by dragging them all in from the "projects" folder, then dragged them all onto my timeline on Final Cut Pro. I will put my intro clips first and cut my clips on the beat so that the transitions are smooth and clean. I will also be adding Final Cut Pro transitions to make them a lot smoother, this will be more aseptically pleasing for my music video and my audience will enjoy this. In the intro I will add black bits in-between each clip as there is a stop in-between the beat in my song at the start, this will be good because the music and visuals will match.

My Final Version Music video

I exported my music video as a H264 for YouTube and a full HD master as this is suitable for YouTube. The technical settings used for my project and timeline, was 1920x1080 at 25fps to make sure all my footage is clear and editable for my project.
My music video v1 compared to my final version has improved massively. I have included a lot more visuals i have added such as transitions and text on the video. I have included these to match the lyrics and visuals to use Andrew Godwin’s theory. My full footage before had 6 minutes 30 seconds however now i have 8 minutes 24 seconds of footage that has been used throughout my music video. This meant if i didn’t like one of the clips of my music video i could change it and make it look better to fit the song better. I also made touches to my intro and outro to make them look smoother and flow with the beat better. I have done this by adding a fade transition on the end of every clip so it flows into the next one better and had to shortern a few of them to make it consistent. I have also added a lot more lip syncing into the video as i believe it looked better than the clips just showing objects of the words to match the lyrics, as these would have been harder to edit and I think lip syncing suits my music better.
